Australian Fishing Challenge: Improve Your Odds of Winning

Fishing is something that I personally enjoy doing every once in a while. Lately, I decided to up my game and see if there is a world above the casual fishing that I’d been doing for years. I felt like I needed something fresh for my fishing hobby that will both improve my game and feed my competitive drive. I love competing in almost everything I do, whether that’s computer games, basketball, or any other activity involving multiple players.

To my surprise, I found out quite a few Australian fishing challenge tournaments in my area. The disciplines vary, as well as the rules and conditions that apply to each event. Some take place in the ocean, others in local lakes and rivers. Some competitions last for months, with a challenge each week, earning you points, and the person who collects most points at the end of the season wins cash or a coupon that lets him buy fishing gear from a particular shop. Either way, it’s a win-win for me, since I spend quite a lot of money on fishing.

The idea of competing can be fun, but if you are a real competitor – it’s not the competition that’s the fun part, it’s the winning that counts. If you’re in it just for the competition, sure, but if you really want to win, you need to be well prepared and equipped. There are a few things you can do to ensure you win, or even place well on an Australian fishing challenge.

Having the right equipment (variety of reels, lures, hooks, quality poles) will all contribute towards your victory and leave nothing to chance. Most competitions will be decided by the size of the catch, so you need to find durable and strong fishing reels for sale, preferably some that have a long line capacity and drag power that will be able to withhold powerful pulls from big fish. There are many fishing reels for sale that you can choose from. They can vary based on the mechanism they work on and some of the features they have – some are better in salty waters, while others are better for lakes and rivers.

Besides equipment, you can prepare yourself by checking out the place where the competition will be held, learn the patterns of the fish, study the specific fish that you are supposed to catch and find out how and where they like to move. Construct a framework that you can follow throughout the day of the challenge and stick to it. Fish aren’t the smartest of species and will often follow the same patterns everyday. Furthermore, have a back up plan in case things aren’t panning out the way you want them to. Being the man with the plan will surely land you high on the scoreboard!
