Planters for the Energetically & Aesthetically Challenged

With summer being just around the corner, the time I spend in my backyard is at an all-year round high. I like to drink my morning coffee there, staring at the beautiful colours of nature that surround me, or unwinding with a pint of beer after work, watching the sun dip below the fence line.

However, as I’ve spent more time in my backyard lately, I started noticing some flaws in it, such as empty spots that could be filled with some plants to give the space more appeal. So for the sake of adding more style to my outdoors and implementing more colour in it, I decided to get modern plastic planters. I made it my goal for this weekend to jazz up this space with planters that spark beauty.

Modern Plastic Planters

Modern plastic planters are pretty easy to find online, and while looking for ones you will realize they come in a wide array of colours, designs and styles. I went with white-colour, square-shaped, self-watering modern plastic planters, because white pairs well with basically everything and fits in every design. Frankly, it was their self-watering feature that was the real deal maker for me. I do love my backyard, but I’m not always at home nor do I have the nerve to constantly water my plants. It’s just the way it is.

The self-watering feature of these planters is ingenious – all I have to do is refill the reservoir once a week or so, and it takes care of the plants’ watering needs on its own. It’s something I would recommend for anyone who has a busy schedule and can’t or doesn’t want to spend time taking care of the plants’ needs.

When buying your planters, just make sure they are big enough for the flowers, vegetables of whatever it is you want to plant in them, as that’s crucial for the plants’ development. You don’t want the roots to cramp and the plants to die out.

Also, look for planters that are made of durable materials that can withstand sun exposure and are corrosion resistant. You don’t want your planters to change their form and colour while in the sun, right? Your plants need the sun, so make sure you give them a suitable home to thrive in.

Other than that, you can freely experiment and use your creativity when arranging them. You don’t really have to even place them on the ground, you can put them on the widows, hang them on your house’s wall or on your fence and make your flowers act as a “privacy wall”. Make good use of the warm weather and soak up the positive vibes.
